The carpal tunnel is a point near your wrist/palm where your finger tendons and median nerve travel through. Usually with repetitive or prolonged gripping, the carpal tunnel becomes inflamed and puts pressure on the median nerve, causing numbness and tingling into the fingers and sometimes pain.

What is carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS)?

Anyone at any life stage can get carpal tunnel syndrome —climbers, desk workers, musicians, parents, tradespeople. If you spend hours typing, gripping tools, pinching weeds, then waking up with numb hands at 3am or feeling like you have to shake your hands awake to get more blood flow, you may be experiencing symptoms of CTS.
