FAQs
What is a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT)?
A hand therapist is an occupational therapist or physical therapist who, through advanced study and experience, specializes in treating individuals with conditions affecting the hands and upper extremity. A CHT has at least three years of experience, plus 4,000 hours of hand and upper extremity therapy practice (upper extremity rehabilitation). A CHT must have passed a certification examination that demonstrates knowledge of all areas of hand and upper extremity therapy.
A CHT can evaluate and treat any problem related to the upper extremity. The hand therapist can effectively treat and rehabilitate the patient through post-operative rehabilitation, preventative, non-operative or conservative treatment or industry consultation.
Do you take insurance?
Currently, we are in network with Medicare Part B. Otherwise, we are considered out of network with all other insurances because we are committed to providing the highest quality of care and best outcomes for our clients. By being out of network, we are able to see each client privately one-on-one.
Our services will go toward your out-of-network benefits, and we are happy to provide you with the detailed invoice to submit to your insurance. You are solely responsible for submitting your "superbill" and all corresponding claims to your insurance company.
Is there a cancellation policy?
We have a 24 hour cancellation policy. A charge of the full cost of the appointment will be incurred if a session is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice. Please contact us for more information, as there are always emergencies and events that may happen out of your control.
Where are you located?
Our office is located at 2512 Artesia Blvd, Suite 305F in Redondo Beach, CA, though we also offer in-home visits if you have a hard time with transportation or would rather just be seen in the privacy and comfort of your own space.
